              Illinois Standards

The week of March 6th, our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students took the ISATs. Grades 3 and 5 were tested in Reading, Math and Language Usage while grade 4 had an additional test in Science. To kick off the week and encourage the students to do their best, a Pep Rally was held in the gym with a surprise appearance from Homewood-Flossmoor

              Achievement Test

High School's cheerleaders. Then, each grade level performed their own cheer or chant and proceeded out of the gym and through the hallways for our annual ISAT parade! Primary students created signs and banners to inspire our mighty test-takers to do their best.
We thank all of our parents for ensuring  students were well-rested and prepared for the tests each day.

              Science Fair 2012

All 4th Grade students are required to create their own experiment and show the steps of the Scientific Method. Bold and artistic display boards attracted students and teachers from other grade levels. This gave the 4th graders an opportunity to demonstrate or explain their project. Some encouraged visitors to develop their own hypothesis before providing details and the conclusion of the experiment. Some of these visitors were surprised to see that sometimes, the outcome was not what they expected!
